I happen to know I become fairly crap at the piano when drunk. But obviously I also *think* I’m better…

I’ve been dancing since 1978 and the dance I learnt then I can do without thinking – and often do when I’ve been drinking. Our new dance, though, I’m finding very difficult and I’m having to remember the names of the figures, the timings, the positions of the swords, etc. I sometimes wish I’d agree that we’d just do our old dance – but the younger members of the team find that too easy, and I’d agree with that. I just wish the dance we will be performing wasn’t the equivalent of your Beethoven Sonata – unless, of course, I have the right level of alcoholic consumption, and find it becomes intuitive. Sadly I predict that that moment won’t coincide with one of our judged performances.
