There's just a wall of noise surrounding this issue at the moment (at, for example, Delingpole's blog post). As you say, all the evidence in the world won't make a scrap of difference to certain people who don't really fancy changing their lifestyles and/or see AGW as a New World Order GreenMarxistFascistTotalitarian stitchup. You can't reason with such people. The CBI said this morning on Radio 4: "We may not understand the science of climate change, but we understand risk, and inaction is risky" or words to that effect. Now, there are people represented by the CBI who are getting set to make lots of money in new, clean technologies; my only concern is that they don't rush to geo-engineering projects that are of dubious value, e.g. painting roofs white (<a href="http://kunstlercast.com/shows/KunstlerCast_80_White_Rooftops.html" rel="nofollow">James Howard Kunstler addressed this in a recent podcast</a>).
