I&#8217;ve been <a href=\"http:\/\/frankieroberto.com\/weblog\/784.xhtml\">sucked in<\/a> to playing the meme game (damn you, Roberto&#8230;).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are the rules:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1: Each player starts with eight random facts\/habits about themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2: People who are tagged need to write a post on their own blog (about their eight things) and post these rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3: At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4: Don\u2019t forget to leave them a comment telling them they\u2019re tagged, and to read your blog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Without further time-wasting, are my eight (why 8?):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>I supported <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Snow_Patrol\">Snow Patrol<\/a> (just as they were about to make it huge) when in a band called the Dead Lovers. Lead singer Toby is now trying to make it <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/tobykeane\">on his own<\/a>.<\/li><li>I am completely addicted to the (really quite bad) &#8220;Jack Reacher&#8221; novels of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shelfari.com\/o1516890216\/shelf\">Lee Child<\/a>, and have read each <strong>at least<\/strong> 3 times. Luckily I also have an appalling memory, so each time is still pretty exciting.<\/li><li>I am thinking quite hard about possibly writing a novel. But don&#8217;t tell anyone. [Oops&#8230;]<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Avro\">AV Roe<\/a> (of AVRO fame), <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Marie_Stopes\">Marie Stopes<\/a> and, indirectly, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Barnes_Wallis\">Barnes Wallis<\/a> are all in my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.verdon-roe.co.uk\/tree.asp\">family tree<\/a>. And I&#8217;m still not **** rich&#8230;<\/li><li>I have Grade VIII piano, and compose the occasional tune on my laptop (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ableton.com\/\">Ableton<\/a>. It rocks.)<\/li><li>I have never known my father, who died when I was a week old.<\/li><li>I have a mildly weird thing about having clean hands. Not, like, freaky or anything&#8230;but you know&#8230;<\/li><li>I have a degree in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Geophysics\">Geophysics<\/a> (aka &#8220;The art of not digging things up&#8221;). If you know how I came to be a &#8220;web professional&#8221;, please let me know \ud83d\ude42<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>My nominations (* thinks: do I actually <strong>know<\/strong> 8 people with blogs&#8230;? * &#8211; and in brackets the likelihood they&#8217;ll contribute too&#8230;) :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ukwebfocus.wordpress.com\/\">Brian Kelly<\/a> [100% certainty: you know Brian, he loves this stuff \ud83d\ude42 ]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.paulwalk.net\/\">Paul Walk<\/a> [65% certainty: Paul may object to me copying the idea&#8230;ha ha. In joke.]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ultramagnus.org\/\">Stephen Pope<\/a> [unknown: Steve blogs infrequently, so it may happen, but may not, depending on what&#8217;s on TV.]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shelfappeal.com\/\">Jane Audas<\/a> [60%: may not be &#8220;designed&#8221; enough for Jane but you never know. If you catch her during a geek moment, anything&#8217;s possible &lt;\/view source&gt;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/swardley.blogspot.com\/\">Simon Wardley<\/a> [80%: not sure there&#8217;s enough content about ducks]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.powerhousemuseum.com\/dmsblog\/\">Seb Chan<\/a> [90%: yeah, reckon so.
